This week the American Action Network announced they would be spending an additional $165,000 on a broadcast media buy focused on Congresswoman Cindy Axne and Iowa’s third congressional district. The investment this week is the second half of a $300k comitment first reported a few weeks ago.

“Nancy Pelosi wants to stop families from passing on the family farm all so she can give away trillions for liberal pet projects,” said AAN Communications Director Calvin Moore. “Pelosi’s plan would hurt farmers, hurt families, hurt our economic recovery and must be stopped before it goes any further.”

The new ad seeks to pressure Axne to oppose the plan floated by Democrats to increase the death tax to pay for a bloated infrastructure proposal. The ad explains that an increase in the death tax would hurt Iowans and especially farmers.

New polling released this week showed that raising the death tax as well as the infrastructure proposal we deeply unpopular in Axne’s district.

On the policy front, the survey showed that Democrats are fighting for proposals that the vast majority of voters in the district oppose on both taxes and infrastructure. By a 46% margin, voters in the third are against raising the death tax. 59% oppose the idea, while only 13% support it. On the Infrastructure plan that focuses very little on “hard infrastructure” like roads and bridges, nearly 60% say no, with just 19% of those surveyed supportive.
