Monday, Iowa Congresswoman Ashley Hinson called on President Joe Biden to hold a press conference to directly answer the mounting list of questions about his administration policies and plans.
In a statement, Hinson said,
“In 48 days on the job, President Biden has yet to hold a press conference and provide answers directly to the American people. Americans deserve transparency from their Commander in Chief, especially during these uncertain times.”
Hinson, an advocate for government transparency, holds press conferences with Iowa reporters every single Friday. She went on to say that press conferences are key when it comes to holding leaders accountable.
“Our Democracy works best when elected officials are accessible and transparent—leaders should be held accountable. That is why I hold a weekly press call and answer questions from reporters in Iowa. It’s past time for the President to hold a press conference and I hope he does so soon,” she concluded
Republican Ashley Hinson represents Iowa’s First Congressional District in the US House of Representatives. She was first elected to Congress in 2020.
