Republican voters have two distinct choices in the race for Congress in the Iowa 2nd District. My opponent, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, is a fine person, but we have a few serious disagreements over issues the voters care deeply about.

For starters, we have to remember what Miller-Meeks said about President Trump at one of his lowest moments. In October 2016, Miller-Meeks tweeted that Trump was “as fit as Hillary Clinton. Both liars & corrupt.” She claims this was about the Access Hollywood tape, but that’s not true — this was in response to an article about Clinton’s unfitness to be president, and Miller-Meeks was suggesting that they were equally unfit. And regardless, it doesn’t matter. We need someone who will be there when the going gets tough and when the voting gets tough. Can we really trust Miller-Meeks to do that?

Which brings up the other major disagreement — the issue of abortion. I’m 100% pro-life. I’ve received endorsements from the National Right to Life and from the Susan B. Anthony List. I’ve sponsored legislation in Congress that would ban taxpayer funding for abortion, and if elected I will sponsor the Heartbeat bill, which would ban abortion after six weeks.

Meanwhile, Miller-Meeks told a forum in 2018 that she was “pro-choice” and believed abortion is a decision “best left to providers, to doctors, and to patients.” She claims she misspoke — how do you accidentally memorize Planned Parenthood talking points?

Abortion is also a big reason I’ve supported President Trump all the way since 2016 — we can’t risk a Democratic President getting to choose Supreme Court Justices — not if we want to overturn Roe v. Wade.

I got involved in politics because I believe in defending the right to life. Back when I first ran for Congress in 2010, we took on an entrenched incumbent in a district that had been held by the Democrats for almost 30 years — and won! I know how to beat the Democrats, and if we win the primary, that’s exactly what we are going to do in November.

When I launched my 2020 campaign a woman asked me why I was running. My answer was very simple. I’m running because I love my God, my Family, and my country. All three of these things are under attack from so-called progressives. The establishment doesn’t have the courage to stand up and fight them. I do, and I will.

My name is Bobby Schilling, and I’m running for Congress in the Iowa 2nd District. I’m pro-Trump, pro-life, and I can beat the Democrats — because we’ve done it before. I would appreciate your vote on Tuesday, June 2nd.
