Iowa’s Young Republicans delegation returned last week from attending the National Federation of Young Republicans’ convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Throughout the week of the convention, multiple speakers and panels were showcased who spoke on various topics ranging from Critical Race Theory, Media Bias, How to talk with people with opposing viewpoints, and the rise of crime within the United States.

Speakers such as Fox News’ Guy Benson, Rep. Madison Carthorne, GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, and Iowa’s Representative and Founder of RunGenZ Joe Mitchell were many of those who made appearances.

“The far left will no longer silence us on who can and who cannot belong to our movement. Whether you’re gay, straight, black, white, man, or woman, you’re welcome to the conservative movement. Diversity is our strength, and unity is our key to success,” Mitchell said during the opening of the national convention over the event’s weekend.

Mitchell had also received the 1856 Young Republican Federation award for his involvement in the organization over the years.

The Iowa Delegation’s Ashley Hunt was also elected to serve as The Young Republican’s Midwest regional director for District 3.

“I am very encouraged about the growth that Young Republicans have seen nationally. It’s incredible to see the momentum from coast to coast that was able to happen in the midsts of a pandemic, and I can’t wait to see the impact that we make in races across the country in 2022,” said YR State Chairman Brett Barker about the week-long convention.
