Axne opts against challenging Rep. Zach Nunn

Axne, first elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2020, lost her bid for a third term to freshman Republican Zach Nunn by just over 2,100 votes in one of the most competitive races in the country. Axne’s campaign was plagued with scandals, including a report by Fox News that she voted by proxy for the Inflation Reduction Act while vacationing with her family in France.
