We were fortunate to be able to transfer out in those cases because of the district we were in, but not all parents are so lucky. We need to have the option to do what’s best for our children, no matter what school district they’re in.”

Axne Flip Flops on Notifying ICE When Illegal Immigrants Attempt to Buy Guns
Thursday, Iowa Congresswoman Cindy Axne (D) voted against a proposal she voted in favor of in 2019. The vote in another instance of the congresswoman flip-flopping on issues and her apparent struggle to stand up to her Democratic peers and party on matters regarding ICE.
While the US house debated a Democratic bill that would have stipped way constitutionally protected 2nd Amendment rights, Rep. Ben Cline’s attempted to amend the bill via a motion to recommit by establishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement would be immediately alerted when the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) determines an illegal immigrant is trying to buy a firearm.

“Supporting workers and businesses are not mutually exclusive; we can do both at the same time. The PRO Act is an unnecessary challenge to the rights of business owners and workers alike. The bill would abolish right-to-work laws across the country, including the laws we have in Iowa, and is yet another attack on states’ rights.
New Elections Integrity Bill Becomes Law with Gov. Reynolds’ Signature
“It’s our duty and responsibility to protect the integrity of every election. This legislation strengthens uniformity by providing Iowa’s election officials with consistent parameters for Election Day, absentee voting, database maintenance, as well as a clear appeals process for local county auditors. All of these additional steps promote more transparency and accountability, giving Iowans even greater confidence to cast their ballot,” noted the Governor.

The PRO Act is Job Killing Federal Overreach – It Must Be Stopped
First and foremost, the PRO Act would completely dismantle Iowa’s Right to Work Law. Besides the overstep of the federal government on state’s rights, Iowa workers would be forced to join a union as a condition of employment. The choice to join a union or not is one of the most fundamental freedoms a worker has, and it’s one that Iowans have had since 1947.
