Let’s Defund EcoHealth
The shady organization that funneled U.S. tax dollars into China’s state-run Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) to conduct risky research on coronaviruses collected from bats is once again being paid by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to experiment on bats. The NIH actually canceled a grant to EcoHealth Alliance in August after repeated refusals by the group to divulge information about...

Mailbag: October 13th 2022
There is nothing more valuable to our society than shaping young minds. It’s why I am proud to work in education. As an educator, I see how health impacts a child’s ability to focus in school. And, it’s why I find it is so important to support programs, like Medicaid...

Tom Miller’s slush fund exposed in new ad
The ad, entitled “Racket”, is a six-figure ad buy highlighting the more than $250 million that NAAG has amassed from state consumer protection settlements and how, under AG Tom Miller’s leadership, this money hasn’t been sent to the victims of consumer fraud but has instead been stashed in foreign investments and used for things like overseas trips for NAAG members and their families. The ad directs viewers to call AG Miller and demand these funds be given back to consumers in Iowa.

NEW: Ashley Hinson ad titled “Change Direction”
“Biden and Pelosi have failed Iowa, and we’re all feeling it. Prices, inflation, way up. Drugs pouring over the border, and woke liberals destroying everything that makes America great,” says Hinson in the new ad. “My opponent, Liz Mathis, won’t change any of that. She actually wants liberals like Pelosi in charge of our government, our lives, and even our kids. It’s time to change direction and save America before it’s too late.”

Rob Sand fights to keep secret emails with liberal blogger
As we reported last month, following Sand’s botched attempt to attack Governor Reynolds for appearing in a COVID-19 PSA, the Kirkwood Institute filed an open records request with Sand’s office, asking for all communications with Belin and AP reporter Ryan Foley. Sand withheld several email chains, claiming that all of his audit and examination records are confidential and that disclosure of the Belin emails would harm an ongoing investigation or threaten the safety of individuals.
Cindy Axne to Run Again
Despite a toxic environment for the progressive positions she holds, Iowa's only Congressional Democrat, Cindy Axne, announced today that she would be seeking reelection. Axne announced the Iowa PBS program "Iowa Press." The Des Moines Democrat was first elected in...
Mariannette Miller-Meeks: Forever Grateful
Since the United States’ founding, millions—including myself, my husband, my father, and six siblings—have answered the call of duty to defend our nation's valor. Each year, on November 11th, we honor their service and sacrifice. My own call to service began when at...
Miller-Meeks to run for reelection in new 1st district
“The real question has never been, ‘Where is she going?’ but, ‘Where are we going?’ Are we going to continue down the Biden-Pelosi plan of more reckless spending, more runaway inflation and more government intrusion into our lives or are we going to espouse policies that create more economic freedom, better wages for working families, a better tax system for Main Street businesses, farmers, and the industries that power our country, and more educational opportunities for our children and grandchildren? I’m running because we need to stop the destructive, tax-and-spend policies of the Biden-Pelosi team and restore economic sanity and good old common sense to our government.”
DMR Giving Liz Mathis A Pass
It seems the members of Iowa’s press corps are quick to give Congressional Candidate Liz Mathis a pass. Last week, The Washington Free Beacon ran a story about Liz’s husband, Mark, and his social media posts, “comparing American Christians to Islamic terrorists,...
Finkenauer Embraces Unions at the Expense of Iowa Farmers
One term Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer has been clear in her support for UAW workers on strike from John Deere. However, production delays initiated by supply chain woes and labor shortages are now being exacerbated by striking workers, inflicting trauma on one of...
Mariannette Miller-Meeks: Mandates Will Only Make Crises Worse
As a doctor, former President of the Iowa Medical Society, and former director of the Iowa Department of Public Health, I have researched the efficacy and effectiveness of each of the three vaccines and I made my personal decision to get vaccinated. I have encouraged others to be vaccinated and administered vaccines across the Second District, but I still believe that vaccination should be a decision by the patient and their physician.
Business Owners are Concerned About the Direction of the Country Under Biden
At a business owner roundtable today, participants expressed deep concern over the current state of the economy and the Biden Administration's decisions like the new federal vaccine mandate. The round table, hosted in Altoona, brought in business owners and leaders...
Election Night Takeaway
What was the motivator? In addition to inflation, high unemployment, and a deeply unpopular president, liberal Democrats have been leaning into an increasingly toxic message that parents shouldn’t have a place at the table when discussing issues about education and what their children are taught.
